Justin E. Maclin
Founder & CEO
Justin was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee. His early child hood he lived in the Whitehaven community in a small townhouse located in Faronia Square, where his mom raised him as a single mother. She worked multiple jobs at a time while also pursuing her bachelors and master’s degree. She is the epitome of success. Justin’s father, James Maclin, is no stranger to the struggle and success either. Even though he’s had a few life tests and struggles, he always had 2 great examples of what success looks like.
Justin’s name became relevant in the city of Memphis when his high school football career began to take off at Ridgeway High School, where he was a dual sport athlete in football and basketball. From there he went on to attend college at Louisiana State University, where he was a student-athlete on the football team.
Like most student-athletes who attend a major university, he had plans to become a professional athlete but his life story took him in another direction. Suffering multiple severe injuries, being in poor academic standing, and other obstacles, Justin was at a crossroad where he had to change the outline of his life. This change came his junior year, where he made up his mind that he was going to make a change and be successful at any cost. He improved his grades, became more dedicated to his education, but most of all discovered inspiration and encouragement through failure. He graduated from LSU with a Bachelors of Science in Sports Administration and furthered his education to receive his Masters in Higher Education Administration.
Currently, Justin is involved in numerous capacities in Sacramento but got his start in the Long Beach community working with a number of K-12 schools and nonprofit organizations. He is a self-proclaimed entrepreneur whose overall goal is to serve the community at large. He is the CEO of Maclin Motivation which provides a number of opportunities for people looking to grow and achieve major goals. He also serves as the Director of Development at University of California- Davis, where he works to improve the overall student-athlete experience. He is a contributor and partner with a number of start-up businesses and member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. He is also an avid member and supporter of Toastmasters International, which focuses on leadership development and communication skills.
